Frequently Asked Questions
In our FAQ section, we have tried to outline the fundamental aspects of our legal procedures. However, every legal dispute possesses its own unique dynamics and specific circumstances. If you could not find the answer to your specific situation on this page, please do not hesitate to contact us and forward your inquiries.
We are here to provide you with the most accurate legal strategy and professional support within our practice areas. You can request an appointment or send your message directly by reaching out to our firm through the contact channels listed below.
1
How can I schedule an appointment with your law firm, and how does the initial consultation process work?
To schedule an appointment, you can fill out the "Contact" form on our website, send a direct email, or contact our assistant via our phone lines. During our initial consultation, we analyze your situation by reviewing the documents related to your legal dispute, and we share the potential risks as well as the legal strategies that can be pursued.
2
Is the initial legal consultation or appointment subject to a fee?
Yes, pursuant to the mandatory provisions of the Attorneyship Law No. 1136 and the Union of Turkish Bar Associations, it is legally prohibited for attorneys to provide pro bono (free) legal consultation. Therefore, our initial appointment and consultation services are subject to a consultation fee determined by our firm, which shall not be less than the Minimum Attorneyship Wage Tariff published annually.
3
How long will my lawsuit or legal process take?
The duration of legal processes varies depending on the type of lawsuit, the workload of the relevant court, the speed of collecting evidence, and judicial recess periods. Following our initial review, we provide you with an estimated timeline in light of similar case files and the target durations set by the Ministry of Justice.
4
I live out of town or abroad; can you manage my legal proceedings remotely?
Yes, thanks to our digital infrastructure and UYAP (National Judicial Network Information System), we are able to remotely handle the lawsuits of our clients located anywhere in Turkey or abroad. We conduct our meetings via secure online consultation platforms, and when necessary, we manage the entire process through a power of attorney you can issue via consulates or notaries, without requiring you to come to the courthouse.
5
How are attorney fees and lawsuit expenses determined?
Attorney fees are freely determined by mutual agreement of the parties based on the nature of the work, the time to be spent, and the complexity of the dispute. However, this fee cannot be lower than the minimum tariff set by the Union of Turkish Bar Associations. Lawsuit expenses (court fees, expert fees, notification expenses, etc.) are determined by the state, are completely independent of the attorney fee, and are covered by the client at the beginning of the lawsuit.
6
How and from where can I issue a power of attorney for you?
Once you decide to work with our firm, we provide you with our corporate attorney/bar registration and power of attorney details. You can have a power of attorney issued in our name by applying to any notary public within Turkey, or to Turkish Consulates if you are abroad. Since the power of attorney may need to include a photograph or specific authorizations depending on the type of your case (such as divorce or recognition and enforcement lawsuits), we will guide you prior to your notary appointment.
7
Are the personal data and documents I share safe? What is your confidentiality policy?
The most fundamental element of the legal profession is the "obligation of confidentiality." All information, documents, and trade secrets you share with our firm are strictly protected as professional secrets under Article 36 of the Attorneyship Law. Furthermore, all data processed within our firm is maintained in encrypted digital systems in compliance with the Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698 (KVKK) standards.
8
Do you guarantee that the lawsuit will be won?
In accordance with the rules of professional ethics, it is both legally prohibited and incompatible with the principles of professional integrity for an attorney to provide a client with a definitive guarantee of success or a winning outcome regarding the result of a lawsuit. The final decision in judicial processes rests with the independent courts. Our commitment is to defend your file with the highest duty of care within the framework of jurisprudence and legal rules, and to assert all your legal rights in a timely and complete manner.
